grateful.

last night after putting easton in the bath i decided i would hurry and change from my clothes into my pj's.
as i was standing in the bathroom doorway taking my boots off i was telling him to shoot a basketball into his basketball hoop.
we were looking at each other giggling when all of a sudden, easton slipped and fell ...
straight back into the water. head and face both went under.
i dropped my boots and RAN to the tub while watching him squirm to turn his body over and sit up.
i immediately grabbed him and started patting his back while he caught his breath and began coughing.
whew, he was okay!
i had a million knots in my stomach and didn't stop shaking for a few minutes.
i never left the bathroom after that ...

later that night after jord put east down to bed for the night, i did my usual ...
surfed blogs while watching a couple tivoed shows.
a friend had a link to THIS BLOG with a little description of this family's story ...
their youngest boy had drowned in the bathtub (how ironic) ... BUT he is alive!
of course it caught my attention and i clicked on the link.
i started reading their story at the beginning and read each updated post since the incident.
as i read, tears ran down my face and i kept thinking ... "this is so something i would do ..."
in the middle of reading, easton woke up crying. i ran up to his room and as i rocked him back to sleep, i squooze him tight and bawled ...
i thanked my Heavenly Father over and over that he is okay. he is healthy. and he is mine.

you can find the story HERE , HERE and HERE.
it is worth reading. prepare to have a good cry ...
i love stories of miracles ...
they are refreshing. they give you hope. they help you have more faith. they help you to be more grateful.
and i am definitely feeling more grateful ...

I read this too Meag, and haven't stopped for one moment enjoying my healthy and beautiful baby girl. It really puts life into perspective.

scary. i am glad you were there to get him out before it was too late. I would have been a wreck and probably sat in the babies room most of the night, just making sure all was really ok!

I HATE moments like that! I'd be happy if we never had to have them but they sure do make us grateful for what we have! Easton sure is a cutie though!
