midway weekend

we spent the weekend hanging with my sis-in-law and her darling little "tunie".
that is koryn (my niece's) nickname.
jord's parents are enjoying the island of kauai for 8 days.
what is with everyone going to hawaii lately??
i am so jealous. i feel like i am in need of a vaca ...
but crummy utah will have to do for now.

we had a lot of fun eating lunch on old main in park city and shopping little of the outlets.
grocery shopping DAY's. eating dairy keen (that i threw up ALL friday night!)
watching easton and koryn play. just hanging out and chatting.
attending the deer creek ward. making a yummy sunday roast dinner.
and watching nicole wax deven's back (probably the best part of the weekend:))

friday, late afternoon jord, east, and i went for a drive up to zermatt to visit the ever so famous ice castles.
but of course, to our surprise, they were CLOSED! because it is starting to warm up, chunks of ice fall from the castles causing them to be dangerous. i can't believe we missed them! we have driven by them numerous times in the past couple of months always saying ...
we will come up in a few days and really check them out.
what were we thinking!
here are just a couple of shots i took standing outside of the yellow caution tape surrounding these beautiful creations.

east playing on the little house that holds the gigantic chess peices out front of zermatt.

koryn calls easton "east buddy". and they really are good good buddies!
here they are in their "matching" puma suits hanging around the house on sunday after church ...

sunday evening, jord's brother deven decided he would brave nicole waxing his HAIRY(no exaggeration here) back.
it made for really great sunday entertainment.
after lots of screaming, jumping up and down and running to the bathroom mirror to check out his new, very red, smooth skin marks, dev got through it all ... back and shoulders both waxed until they bled ... just a little! i will spare you any pictures and video of this.
instead you can see the kiddos were pretty entertained themselves ...

we had such a fun weekend!
thanks nic and tuner! (and dev!)

Don't complain about having to "vacation" in Utah - at least you have things to look at! Those ice castles are awesome.
