so while we were in georgia we noticed that the back of luke's head looked really flat.
we know that all baby's have flat heads, but luke's .... was REALLY flat.
and no, he is not a deprived little child because he is "the second child."
that is what i keep telling my brothers who like to tease and joke with me about it.
poor baby luke.
at his 4 month appointment the pediatrician checked out the concern and agreed that luke's head is really flat,
so he is sending us to the orthotics office to fit his head for a helmet.
yes, our baby has to wear a helmet.
he goes in in 2 weeks to get measured and then he will start wearing it around 6 months.
thankfully, 2 of our friends' little boys have each had to wear them too so i can lean on them for a little comfort.
i knew that it would probably happen but in the back of my mind i was hoping that maybe he would be fine without.
i was bummed when i heard the news but like my mom keeps telling me,
"it could be worse." and i am grateful it is what it is and not worse.
jord is getting excited about it and thinks we should be a big U on his helmet.
ha! we'll see.
until we get details on how long he has to wear the helmet,
we are hoping that his bumbo seat and tummy time will help eliminate some time.
because tummy time is becoming a regular routine and he is getting more used to it ...
he falls asleep! ... perfect!

Oh my goodness Meags, Luke is so cute! I love these pictures. Poor boy that he has to wear a helmet!
You can definitely lean on me for support! Please call me and we can talk. I remember that same feeling the day my pediatrician told me Erik would need a helmet. It is hard to hear, but it is also comforting that there is a way to help it. Luke is adorable and he will be just fine. Let me know if you want to talk about it.
I can sympathize, Carter was told the same thing and I was a mess until we went and was told he needed surgery instead of a helmet....taught me a lesson of could be worse. Its hard as a mom to go through these things but helmet is stylish with a big U on it:) He is adorable:)
