i can't believe it is the 20th day of september.
where did summer go?
i am not ready for it to be over.
i am not ready for the colder weather. especially the snow.
i will miss wearing shorts and flip flops.
and not worrying about if the boys are dressed enough to keep from freezing.
but such is life ... especially in utah.
you'd think i would be used to the snow by now.
we spent our last days of summer doing a little bit of all of these things:
swimming (of course!)
hangin' with friends
saying goodbye to friends
doctor visits (including luke's LAST helmet appointment!)
accepting new calling(s)
playing outside
going on walks
going on walks
starting school
and
and
attending swiss days in midway
(technically not summer time (labor day weekend) ... but i look at it as my last hoo-rah of summer!)

[ 7 peaks ]
east couldn't get enough of the slides.
[ a night with the gerstner's a.k.a our favorite's (or in clay's words ... bezzies) ]
we watched eva play soccer!
we watched eva play soccer!
and found out that east is not a soccer player.
we told him to go kick the ball in the goal but he picked it up, ran over to the goal. and threw it in!
then we headed over to SLAB pizza for dinner.
then back to their house for s'mores and fun!
mmm ...
[ last playdate with jen and her kiddos before leaving us for D.C. ]
laura, lucy, meg, and emmalee came too!
we headed to my old child hood stomping grounds, farmington.
it was a little nostalgic for me ... getting off the exit, driving past farmington jr. high then farmington elementary, and through the neighborhood i spent pretty much 4 years of my life in - including the house that jen grew up in (all 27 years of her life).
the smell of that house and the backyard brought back so many memories!
and now we are all grown with kiddos of our own - playing in that same house ...
ryder wanted to cuddle up with me so we had to capture the moment!

kaysia and luke were so cooperative:)
more childhood memories ... this is under the counter in the half kitchen in her basement.
most of the writings consist of at least one boy's name. typical 12, 13, 14, and 15 year old girls.

tyler (jen's hubbs) showing the kids their moving truck and letting each of them "drive" it.
[ swiss days ]
attended 3 different times this year!
pictures taken with jd's iPhone.
clay.ash.cash.
us.
the best ... only thing to eat at swiss days ... the famous, ham and swiss!
i may or may not have had this 2-3 times this year!
[summer walks ]
... always lull the boys to sleep.
goodbye summer 2011.
we will miss you!
