the 4th festivities!

In CoLuMbUs, they like to celebrate the 4th on the 3rd! Or at least their big celebration! They call it Red, White and BOOM! Some of us girls went downtown, despite the rain, to check it out! Lots of food booths were set up, actually ONLY food booths were set up and I was able to embellish in my favorite Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwich and not have to worry about the gross-untrusted gyros! We attended a parade for a couple of hours and then headed to the river to wait a couple of hours for the fireworks to start! Don't worry ... we had SKIP BO! The fireworks were aWeSoMe ... to say the least! They were probably the BEST I have ever seen! (... or they tie with the fireworks on the Danube River in Budapest a couple summers ago)! They always seem to be better on the RiVeR!? We had a great time but we were sad our hubby's weren't there to join us! Thanks girls for a fun day!

Here is a little bit of the FINALE. I didn't get as much of it as I wanted but this gives you a little feel of the show!

On the actual 4th, the guys were supposed to get off "earlier" but Jord didn't get home until about 9:00! Us girls had found another firework show we wanted to go to at Capital University downtown.  Luckily it didn't start until 9:45, so as soon as Jord got home he changed quickly and we headed out ... only to get lost! We ended up finding our way to where we were supposed to be and caught the finale! Jord was a little frustrated but what's the 4th without some fireworks!? I tried to stay positive and kept reminding him that at least we saw some:) The best part of the night though was the gelato shop we parked across the street from was still open after the fireworks ... so our tart lemon blueberry gelato topped the night!

i don't know why we both have chinese eyes!?

I like the new blog look. Super cute! And I am glad that you had a good 4th of July! It's definitely one of my favorite holidays! Nothing like a good fireworks show. :)

I saw some of the firework show (from Red White & Boom) on TV and it looked like a lot of fun. Seeing how cool it was made me wish I was there to hear the fireworks in person.

You both look like you are having so much fun together!! I didn't get my cravings until around then and it wasn't a daily thing they were just really random, but they say if you crave sweet things like fruit its a girl (I loves grapes and oranges) but if you crave salty things its a boy. I am so excited for you both!!

I'm glad you guys were able to do some fun things on the 4th! I wondered what there would be to do around here. That's crazy that they celebrate on the 3rd and not the 4th! Your new header is super cute by the way!! I love it!
