FReeDoM!

Every Monday we get a letter (family letter) from our brother, Elder Deven Day, who is serving in Rosario, Argentina.  Each letter he sends is always better than the week previous ... his testimony is always stronger than the week before and probably the day before, but unfortunately or fortunately (however you want to look at it), we get to hear it once a week! The people of Argentina are surely lucky to have him! I love his letters and the subject of this weeks letter was 'God Bless America.'  He ended his letter with this:

I WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW OF THE UNDYING LOVE THAT I HAVE FOR THE WONDERFUL AND BLESSED COUNTRY THAT WE LIVE IN... THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!! I FOUND A CD IN MY PENCH HERE IN RUFINO AND IT HAS THE NATIONAL ANTHEM ON IT... SO YOU BETTER BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR THAT AT 6:35 IN THE MORNING I AM GOING TO BLAST THAT AND SING MY LUNGS OUT HAHAH... NO I AM TRULY GRATEFUL FOR THE U.S.A AND FOR THE PRIVILIGE I HAD TO BE BORN THERE AND LIVE THERE.... I LOVE ARGENTINA BUT FOR ME NOTHING BEATS THE GOOD OLD RED WHITE AND BLUE!!!!

Isn't that awesome!?! I loved it! It made me sit and think of how blessed we are and how much we all take it for granted until we are reminded again during this fun holiday time!  Like Dev,  I truly am grateful for this country and for the blessing it is to have been born and raised here! A few summer's ago when I went to Romania with some friends, I felt this strong desire to be back home to celebrate our country's freedom! There is something about being out of the U.S. on the 4th of July ... I am so thankful for the freedom's we have to enjoy!

I thought I would share some fun pics from Romania ... Here we are acting like fireworks ...

I even had RED and BLUE scrubs to wear in the hospital that day. This is my favorite nurse, Christina ...

We celebrated with cheap sparklers (the closest things we could come to any kind of firework) and sang the National Anthem ...

I totally fell in love with Independence Day in Romania too. My pride for our wonderful country is huge and I am so glad I get to celebrate our freedoms every year. Those pics are seriously disturbing but I do miss the fun we had over there.

Meags, thats funny you would post Dev.'s letter. We both shared the same paragraph in our lessons on Sunday! Pretty awesome!
I am like you, I think each letter gets better each week, and I can't wait until the next one comes. Which it should have come today, but didn't. Transfers I quess?
