meet our "fighter"

do you see the battle wound!??! ... okay, maybe it's not that BAD. it sure looks worse in person! and only if you could have seen it the day it happened.

this is easton's first official "ouwie." (spelling?? this is not an actual word, but in kids terms .. it is:))

the other day i was putting away clean dishes. easton was standing up against the dishwasher. he let go about 3 times and stood for a few seconds all by himself before catching his fall each time on the side of the dishwasher. i said to him "east, i need to sit you on your bum!" i had beaters in my hand at the time i said that and thought i would hurry and put them away and then grab him. as soon as i turned around to put the beaters in the drawer where they belonged, i heard the BONK!

east fell face first on the side of the dishwasher.

i immediately jumped to pick him up and hugged him so tight until he could catch his breath. his eye was bleeding like crazy. i ran with him in my arms to get a wet washcloth and began to "dab" at the blood. as soon as he could get a hold of the washcloth, he snatched it from my hand to suck on it and he stopped crying. he hasn't cried since! fussed a little but NO crying.

surprisingly, this accident wasn't as tragic as him rolling off the bed for the first time when he was around 3 months old.

after getting the cut all cleaned up, i loaded neosporin on it and layed him down to watch his favorite baby einstein.

every time i looked at him the rest of the day he looked like he had just got out of the boxing ring! he was SO tough. he is definately my little champ!

unfortunately, he had pictures scheduled to be taken that same day. 4 hours after the accident! i frantically called the photographer but she assured me she could photoshop the wound!

the photo shoot went awesome and the pictures turned out SO cute. click HERE to view some of them! i can't wait to see the rest! i will post them as soon as i get them!

the girl that photographed east is mindy young. she does such a great job! she is SO sweet and fun to meet so if any of you need pics taken of your little ones and would like to use her, let me know! love her!

a HUGE thanks to my sister-in-law, nicole for telling me about her. mindy took my neice's pictures a couple weeks before easton's. they turned out DARLING, i had to share a few of my fave's!
