the NEST

after this weekend i feel like i am or should be a wasatch wasp!

or maybe i just feel like i want to go back to high school? one just like the NEW wasatch high school in heber. i thought i would never want that after graduating already ...

last week, the heber valley community celebrated 100 years of wasatch pride starting with a dedication to the NEW high school, then an alumni (flag) football game with alumni cheerleaders and waspettes performances, and then finally a HUGE open house for everyone to admire the fine building in AWE that a high school like this one actually exists!

i have always thought RYLE was the nicest high school until i saw this one! ... darn! i still have my raider pride but i surely have some wasp pride too! i think i am entitled though ... because it is MY hubby's school.

friday night was the alumni game where my M-I-L, lesa performed with the alumni waspettes.

i was reassured of the spunk she has! way to go les!

in the second video they had to do a 30 second solo ... see if you can spot lesa. i will give a hint ... watch closely for the #9 when their backs are towards the camera. she wore elder dev's soccer jersey. ... he would be proud!

so i have been searching AND searching for a PICTURE of the NEW wasatch high school and can't find ONE! so this is the best i could come up with from their facebook page. lame, i know. maybe when i FIND some, i will post them.

the right wing of the school is my favorite! it consists of 3 gyms (one being the main gym called the NEST, a dance studio, a wrestling room, baseball and softball practice area, and anything mostly to do with the athletics side of school. on the outside of school, it also shows the title ... THE NEST.

saturday was the open house. they had a little old fashioned carnival outside in front of the school that DAY'S MARKET hosted and provided lots of yummy free food and drinks.

there was also pie eating contests, hula hooping contests, water dunk contests, and face painting. it turned out to be a great party!

as you can see i was trying to do a "cheerleader" face ... when i was a cheerleader our coach was huge on facials and she would always yell at us to do the vowels ... this could be my not so pretty "A" or "I"
