behind the name

when i was pregnant with Easton, his name for almost half of that pregnancy was Braxton. that is what we thought we wanted to name him. Braxton Byron. and if i was going to have a girl, her name was going to be Peyton. so we would call the baby in my belly "BP."

 anyway ... jordan ended up hearing the name Easton on TV and fell in love with it. and so did i. 

we knew we wanted our boys (assuming we would have 2 at some point) to have their grandpa's names as their middle names.  my two brother's middle names are each of my grandpa's and ... i love it! i guess you could say i am copying my mom too. but what an awesome idea! our boys will be carrying the names of two great men with them throughout their lives. SO ... when we decided we wanted to name our first boy Easton, we decided that Gregory (my dad's name) sounded better with it.
and then our second boy would for sure get Byron (jord's dad's name) as his middle name.

before i even got pregnant a second time, we would talk about what other boy names we liked ... making sure it sounded good with Byron. when we came up with LUKE ... it just seemed to fit perfectly!

 plus, it has a few other meanings ...

1) it is jordan's middle name. ... that i have always loved! (along with the name jordan!)

2) it is jordan's mom's maiden name
and

3) ironically, it was my dad's nick name growing up (mostly by his sister's).

so, there you have it. our new baby and second boy will be known as ...
