every year at Christmas time we do some kind of "ginger" contest.
gingerbread houses, gingerbread trees, gingerbread trains ... we've done them all.
this year it was gingerbread houses again.
the last time we did houses (3 years ago) mine and jord's turned into an "argentine house."
for some reason when it comes to this, we are so not creative, but this year ...
i have to admit ... we did pretty good! and we even had a time limit and B-man was the judge.
we all tied! what kind of judge does that?
i think my vote actually goes to deven and lesa.
but here they all are ... judge for yourself.
here is what east and tunie did while we decorated our houses. they watched Toy Story!
{New Years Eve/New Years}
by the time New Years rolled around, half of the family was sick.
from sore throats to runny noses to ear infections.
but it didn't keep us from sticking to tradition!
another tradition the Day family does, on New Years, is eat fondu and chocolate fondu for dessert!
Les made us wear the hats and headbands. i think it is safe to blame it on her :)
she said we had to wear them any time a picture was taken during the night ...
maybe that is why there is only this ONE!
luke was part of all the fun sitting snug in his bouncer seat.
(while all of the other children were downstairs watching a movie.)
New Years day was spent playing games for almost half of the day in our pajamas after eating sourdough waffles
with homemade coconut syrup! mmm ... can you tell (yet) that we are all about food?
the "New Years" fairy visited and gave all of the girls baskets full of bath and body spray/lotion/shower gel/lufa
and gave the boys each their own NERF guns! there were a few nerf wars that day too!
wish i would have got pictures of these things ... HAPPY 2011!

soon after the individual pictures were taken ... kolby, ali, jax, and emma's Day's Market fell apart so we had to snap a pic.
their roof was too heavy.
