could it have been a worse week for baby luke?
i don't think so.
i don't think so.
first this:
casting for his helmet ... tuesday morning.
2 weeks and he gets the actual helmet! it's going to be an interesting ride.
second this:
luke started getting sick with a cold on monday of this week.
tuesday and wednesday passed ... still feeling the same. cough. runny nose. a little wheezy when breathing.
thursday morning jord got luke out of bed and told me he didn't sound good at all. i made an appointment with the doctor. he said he was pretty sure he had RSV. we gave him a breathing treatment (pic above) but it didn't help much. so i went to mt. timp hospital-respitory unit to get him suctioned out where they checked his oxygen level too. it was 92. good. anything below 90 = bad. went home not knowing if it was really RSV and just hoping this bad cold would go away soon.
friday morning he woke up at 6:30 to eat. he drank 1 ounce and no more.
when i put him on my shoulder to burp him i could tell he was struggling to breath ...
so i ran to the hospital to get him suctioned out again and to have his oxygen level checked. 82/83!
so we were admitted to the ER ... for 5 hours! after 3 chest x-ray's, a nose swab, a deeper (throat) suction, and a few hours of oxygen level monitoring (once dropping all the way to 75!) and lab results proving RSV+ ... we were finally admitted to a room in the pediatrics unit.
hospitalized friday, saturday, and sunday morning.
we were released this morning around 9 AM.
we couldn't be happier to be in the comfort of our home!
THANK you so much to all of our amazing family and friends for your love, thoughts, prayers, and support.
we couldn't be more grateful for all of you. we LOVE you!
we couldn't be more grateful for all of you. we LOVE you!
hospital pics up next ...
the day of his casting ... didn't know what was coming and quickly forgot what happened. same straight face.

that is so scary. I am so glad he is ok. RSV is horrible! I am glad you live close to a hospital and in the times we do so he could get treated and quickly. Sorry I didn't know until now. I hope you are doing better.
What a hard week! I'm glad that he's at least well enough to be released. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your little guy.
