for our little e man's third birthday this year, we took him on the train.
a.k.a. heber creeper/north pole express.
we didn't want to do a party this year but still wanted to make it a birthday for him to remember.
because he LOVES trains we thought what would be more perfect than the heber creeper?
and because his birthday is in december ... the heber creeper becomes the north pole express for the month.
east was ecstatic when we told him.
as we drove up to the train station, he was literally trying to jump out of his carseat still buckled in.
i wish i would have filmed it.
our train ride was filled with fun! drinking hot chocolate and eating cookies, singing christmas carols, listening to people tell christmas jokes, listening to a high school choir sing a few christmas carols to us,
and last but not least ... santa getting on the train at the "north pole" and stopping to talk to each of the kids and giving them a silver bell.
i didn't film an ounce of the night. what was i thinking!?
my mom let me know that was not the smartest thing either ...
telling me i would regret it after going home for christmas and watching our home videos.
and she was right.
so i have been prompt to film a few things since then.
i did get a few pictures of the night ... definitely a night we will remember!
happy third birthday east! we love you oh so much!

with the engine!
one of my other favorite parts of the night (besides watching easton so happy) was when our train conductor came through our car to say hello and punch our tickets. he happened to be one jordan's middle school english teachers. jordan asked him, "do you remember me!?"
the conductor stood there for a second and then started saying a poem. after the first few lines they both burst out laughing.
it was a poem that jord was supposed to memorize and say to him (the teacher) but never could.
not to mention he had that class with a few of his buddies. so we all know how that was ...
these two had fun reminiscing.
just look at his cute happy face! he couldn't stop smiling.
... priceless!

What a fun birthday event! His little face is just beaming. Don't worry over much about filming everything. Sometimes it's more important to just enjoy the moment with your cute boys.
